ELEN LLOYD ROBERTS

SOPRANO

Welsh soprano Elen Lloyd Roberts is a graduate of the Royal Academy of Music and Durham University. She enjoys a varied career as a soloist and ensemble singer and is just as at home on the operatic stage as she is on the concert platform.

For the 25/26 season, Elen looks forward to joining Utopia Choir and Orchestra again for their production of Bizet’s Carmen at the Salzburger Festspiele, under the direction of Teodor Currentzis. The choir will also sing in the opening concert of the festival in a programme of György Kurtág’s Songs of Despair and Sorrow and Arvo Pärt’s Miserere as well as Brahms’ Requiem later in festival.

Solo oratorio highlights this season include the first soprano solos in Mozart’s Mass in C minor, Bach’s St John Passion, Handel’s Messiah, and Brahms’ Requiem at Arundel Cathedral.

Elen was delighted to have advanced to the semi-final of the Renata Tebaldi International Baroque Voice Competition in San Marino in September.

"Elen Lloyd Roberts was a sassy Marzelline... confident and clear, with a nice bloom to the voice, soaring comfortably at the top of the Act 1 quartet"
